How many can say they count themselves lucky to have lived and loved the same career for a lifetime? Valeria Dragonswan gratefully does.
Growing up in the 1950’s in the heart of Virginia farming country surrounded by the family dogs for playmates, she absorbed a knowledge of canine psychology that enables her to connect to clients pets with an immediate personal rapport.
She chose to enter the fields of Veterinary care and pet styling, while maintaining a strong interest in the arts, and the natural healing lifestyle. While Valeria is creative in several art media - Oil, stained glass, photography - she likes to describe her canine styling skill as “Hair Sculpture”. Her many years of exhibiting in A.K.C. conformation dog shows and the attendance of educational seminars have added to her extensive knowledge of purebred dogs and the newer deliberate mixes often called “Designer Dogs”.
Of course Valeria loves puppies, but the older pet has a special place in her heart. She feels that the aged dog, after years of devotion to it’s family has earned the right to be treated as an honored Elder. Veterinarians agree that timely grooming by an experienced professional can alert the pet owner to subtle changes in the health of their dog. She grooms and styles for the health and beauty of each pet.
